I bought two Nerf CS-6 Longshots at wal-mart for $15 each on black friday, and let me tell you. They are amazing. The scope is useless, Nerf CS-6 Longshot just looks cool. The pistol on the end is useless as well, having it on just decreases the range of the longshot. The pistols themselves suck also, the farthest mine has ever gone was 15 feet. It usually goes about 2 feet.
The Nerf CS-6 Longshot is great, mine goes about 35 feet. It’s pretty light, and the stock is really comfortable. I like how the stock holds a clip. The bipod is kinda cool.
If you are going to mod Nerf CS-6 Longshot, there are two pathways you can take, or do a combination. The two pathways are Assault rifle, and Sniper rifle. Modding it is essential to get full potential. I rated it’s educational value as 4 stars because you can learn a lot from modding it.
If you want it as an assault rifle, your best bet is to put a more powerful spring where the original one is, put a more powerful catch spring in (this keeps it from misfiring), putting a piece of PVC pipe in the stock to keep it from collapsing on your hand, taking out the air restrictor, taking out the locks, and doing the front gun integration. The front gun integration is where you saw out the bipod, and put the front gun there and linking the triggers. Check out nerfhaven.com or Coop772′s youtube channel for instructions.
If you want a sniper, you should again do the same spring upgrades and take out the air restrictor and locks. Instead of doing the FG integration, you should keep the bipod. There are a couple little nubs that keep the bipod from going any farther than it can go, so saw those out and your bipod will be more practical. You should also take the barrel and the piece that locks the FG into the Nerf CS-6 Longshot out of the FG, and glue them together for a better sniper look. Again, check nerfhaven and youtube.
Overall this is a great nerf gun. I would recommend Nerf CS-6 Longshot to any nerfer.
